That Gray Zine is a space to discuss all things mental health in order to reduce stigma, foster a sense of community, advocacy, validation, and empowerment

Erica Edmonds created That Gray Zine in 2019. She is a mental health therapist and has a group practice in San Antonio Texas. Inclusivity, intersectionality, social justice, anti-racism, and the decolonization of mental health are important frameworks for how she navigates her group practice and the zine. The idea for the zine came from a conversation she had with her husband about the cultural commonalities of human experiences due to systemic factors as well as the individualized intricacies of mental health. She wanted to create an additional resource to amplify community voices and to foster support, awareness, destigmatization, empowerment, advocacy, and validation.

That Gray Zine is a place where people are able to discuss all things mental health in ways they feel comfortable doing so. The hope is that somewhere along the way you feel empowered by being heard and being seen, whether it be through submitting to the zine or reading a piece in the zine.
